Waikowhai Primary Year 5/6 Bay of Islands Camp

Hello, and welcome back to my blog.

Today I am going to share with you our Waikowhai School Camp. We arrived at 7:00 to 7:45  an at around 8:00 we left to go on a Pavlovich Coachlines Bus. We had our own cabins and they were like about four or five people in our cabin group. Everybody loves and like the cabins because it was so tidy but then they turned really messy really quick. Our one was clean of course.

We drove for 2 hours and then another 2 hours and then 1 hour 50m. I loved going to the bus because it was really comfy but there were also too vans that we had to take turns to go.

My favourite part was day three because we went to the sand dunes and we also went to Manea experience footprints of Kupe.  My friend Charlie and me  got the furthest sandboarding score.

We took a ferry to go to the sand dunes in Paihia. The sand dunes were really cool and it was really sandy and me and Charlie made a grave for a dead Tree.

Then we went to Manea experience footprints of Kupe and we got to see different wooden carved statues and it was really cool to see how people carved them. After that we go to see a 4D show of Kupe how he came to New Zealand in his Waka. We also got to swim and play games.

On day 5 we also went to the Hundertwasser Museum and it was a like a real artwork itself. I was really happy to see my Mum again and I couldn’t wait to be home. We also went swimming and me and my friends found a big rock pool with starfish and other sea creatures.

I hope you like this post,

Kia Ora, and welcome back to my Blogpost. Today we are going to be looking at Cyberbullying and how to  keep safe when it happens.

  1. Take a screenshot and tell an adult that you trust.
  2. Do not open any link from someone you do not know.
  3. If it it your friend, ask them if they sent it.
  4. If you get an Email From someone you don’t know ignore it.
  5.  If someone you don’t know offers you something, don’t do it.

Reading Novels in Class Hauraki

This term (Term 2), We got sorted into groups, each group got a novel to read. On the first day we had to read Chapters 1 and 2. On day two we got a slideshow to complete and finish by the end of the term. There were tasks on the slideshow and one of them was creating a google drawing about our group book. Our group book was called ‘Bow Down Shadrach’ by Joy Cowley.  Another activity we did was ‘Comprehension Questions’.  There were two documents of Comprehension Questions. The questions were set on 3 chapters. The first document was about Chapter 1 and 2, the next document was set on chapter 5. We had to be done because at the end of the term there is going to be a Showcase and we are going to show all our work.

Here are screenshots of my Comprehension Questions. What I really liked about Bow Down Shadrach was it was really an adventurous story. It had lots of points and cool things like jumping onto a truck and getting thrown out. That book is half comedy!

Here are screenshots of my Comprehension Questions.

Bye,

Bow Down Shadrach Book Review

Kia ora,👋

Today I will be reviewing the book Bow Down Shadrach By Joy Cowley. Bow Down Shadrach Is a book about a girl named Hannah who has an ancient Clydesdale horse, his name was owned by a person from the bible. Shadrach gets kidnapped by a Dog food company so Hannah and her family get to have the adventure of their lives!😀 They jumped onto a truck then they got thrown out and had to find and take a bus!😂 This book is highly recommended by me and in my opinion it is awesome book.

Here is a link to a google drawing describing the story more. 😃

Basketball Zones

Hello,

On Tuesday the 2nd of May we went to the Trust Arena in Henderson and we participated in a thing that people call Basketball Zones. We needed Mouthguards for the zones trip so we bought a mouthguard at Rebel Sport on Sunday. We had our first game and we lost 2 nil, We had like 30 m rest so we had some of our food from our lunchboxes, My Teacher had some mandarins stored up in her bag. Waikowhai had team names of Maori colors. I thought that CTK was the hardest team to beat. In our last game we had a tie with the score of 1,1 against them. Altogether we had seven games at the Trust Arena, all 10m long. One game already made you exhausted. Overall it was really fun. Here are some photos,

2022 Waikowhai Primary School Reflection.

2022 has been a complete blast. The Terms have been wonderful from the hot Summer to the deblossoming Autumn, to the Winter chills, Than to the blossoming Spring and back to the start. My most memorable moment back in time was the school Cross Country, not because I won the year 4 boys race but because all the support I had from other children. My Goal is not to actually win ( Even Though I try My best) It is to Encourage other people to try their best even when tired. My New Friends have been supporting me through the year.I remember It so well because So many people watching me supported me throughout the way. I enjoyed the Athletics day the most because I won all my long runs and won all my sprints except one of them. I enjoyed It the most because we had a lot of time to Actually enjoy and  Spend time with Friends. The subjects I have made most Improvements on is Writing. I enjoyed Writing the most too because I have improved and write more than I always used to. I have made Better Friends with Lots of schoolmates and I have learned lots from them. I have not had responsibilities this year But I am looking forward to Getting responsibilities next Year. It have not thought about it much because I did not have one this year. The Year has been good with a few changes but I bet It could Improve for Next year.

Parihaka Remembrance day.

Parihaka is a time of the year where we remember the time of how the brave people of Parihaka brought upon the non violence spirit. The two peaceful leaders were Te whiti O Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi. They were really cool and they were inspiring the goodness of the non violence spirit. The Government was greedy and wanted all the land so they invaded Parihaka.

1600 Troops can you believe that. In my school we did some parihaka bands! CHECK IT OUT!!!!
